(Philadelphia, MS) – Brenda Moore won $407,286 when she hit the Wheel of Fortune® quarters MegaJackpot™ at the Silver Star Resort and Casino on Tuesday, December 31st.

Moore, a nurse from Mulga, Alabama said she visits the casino regularly. “[I] Travel here on a regular bus tour.” She went on to say that she “always plays Wheel of Fortune®“ and just prior to her win was “talking to the machine, telling it to please hit.” Incredibly, Moore had won a smaller amount of money on the winning machine and left the game. She then came back to the same machine, invested another twenty dollars, and as she put it, “the luck continued.” As for her winnings, Moore reported that she plans to purchase a “house and car” and thinks her win will “make life easier.”

Tuesday’s Wheel of Fortune® jackpot is the eighth to be awarded at Silver Star this year, bringing the casino’s total payout to over $2.8 million. Silver Star is the only Mississippi casino to carry the IGT Wheel of Fortune® progressive system and boasts thirty-three machines with denominations varying from five and one-dollar machines to twenty-five cent machines. Silver Star belongs to the IGT Native American progressive gaming network. The network includes over one hundred casinos in thirteen states. IGT’s multi-state progressive system is unique in that each time a player adds a coin to a machine connected to the network, it increases the progressive jackpot.

Wheel of Fortune® has a starting jackpot of $200,000 and features the famous spinning wheel from the popular television game show.  In order to win the MegaJackpot™, a player bets three quarters at a time while attempting to line up the Wheel of Fortune® reel symbols on the machine’s payline.  Each time a coin is played in a linked machine, the jackpot accumulates until some lucky winner hits the top jackpot award.

The Wheel of Fortune® progressive system was developed by IGT of Reno, Nevada, the world leader in the manufacture of gaming machines and proprietary software for progressive gaming systems. Sodak Gaming Inc. is the leading distributor of IGT slot machines and progressive systems on tribal lands and manages sales and service to Indian Country from its headquarters in Rapid City, South Dakota.

All IGT MegaJackpots™ are paid in annual installments upon verification, except Elvis® , Slotopoly™, SuperNickelmania™, Party Time™, 5-cent Wheel of Fortune®, and 5-cent Jeopardy! ®, which are paid in their entirety upon verification.
